TransCore is Hiring a Manager, Maintenance Near Pacheco, CA

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Manager to join our team in the San Francisco Bay area.

Job Description: The Maintenance Manager directs the coordination of technical and administrative support activities including installation, repair, and preventative maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures that all maintenance tasks are accomplished in a timely and efficient
  • Ensures that all employee administrative activities are being completed properly and in a timely manner (timecards, expense reports, schedules ).
  • Performs quality control
  • Reports and supports system related
  • Provides daily, weekly, and monthly reports of activities to the customer and/or
  • Assists with equipment and system
  • Develops a plan to meet customer requirements and communicates the plan to
  • Manages and monitors performance of field support
  • Analysis, monitors, and reports on KPI’s for maintenance projects to the customer and/or
  • May develop and maintain project
  • Meets with customers and staff periodically to maintain an understanding of service issues and progress.
  • Plans and provides technical training to staff and/or contract personnel to maintain proficiency on system
  • Monitors and administers company
  • Monitors spare parts inventory for maintenance
  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates maintenance
  • Develops, implements, and monitors local administration

Education: Associates degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.

Desired Skills:
  • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)/Tolling Design knowledge
  • 5 years of related experience in a similar field

Salary Range: $100,000 to 120,000 annually, based upon experience.

This is a safety sensitive position subject to pre-employment drug testing including THC.

Authority: Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).

Job Complexity: Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.

Discretion: Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities.

Interaction: Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.

Direction: Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing. In some instances, this manager may be responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
